The term maneuver warfare is frequently used in western defense doctrines and theoreticaltextbooks. The ambition of the Swedish armed forces is to attempt maneuver warfare in allappropriate situations. Theories and doctrines indicate the importance of decentralized command and control systems. Mission command (Auftragstaktik) is one such system and should be applied to all situations of the Swedish Armed Forces. There are theoretical and doctrinal bases for warfare and command, but in practice, what are the preconditions for this? Previous research addresses many theoretical questions but there are flaws in existing studies investigating practical realities.The purpose of this study has been to reach a deeper understanding of armed forces ability to maneuver warfare by analyzing conformity of command and leadership perspectives in practice.This is an interview-based qualitative case study in which respondent´s statements were analyzed and interpreted in relation to a theoretical framework.

The Battle of Breitenfeld took place in 1631, during the 30-year war. It was the biggest battle the Swedish army has participated in. The essay analyses the battle from a Swedish-Saxon perspective, using the basic skills, ground tactical principles and management philosophy of decentralized command.The essay is based on a case study stemming from a qualitative text analysis, and is as such divided into three parts. The first part of the essay describes my theory, and explains what the different terms stand for. The second part narrates the battle and the participating armies.

This report is an evaluation of the cooperation between the rescue command centre and the POSOM-groups (?Psychological and social support?) after the Tsunami catastrophe in December, 2004. The report describes the interaction between these two municipal administrations, what services the rescue command centre provided and how they gathered information. Finally the author suggests different solutions to how the collaboration within these different municipal administrations can be increased and improved in future times of crisis..

Due to the new demands put upon combat vehicles of today the development quickly strives for-ward. With developers and experts across the globe working to meet the needs of tomorrows armies. The question we ask ourselves is what will be the characteristics of these vehicles. In order to be able to categorize combat vehicle and analyze its characteristics we use the principles of war. Based on J.F.C Fullers theory from the early 19 hundreds that anything can be analysed using these principles, through a modern interpretation of the Swedish army, we can categorise the present and future abilities of combat vehicles.

Since events of September 11 and the subsequent conflicts surrounding the event, the war against terrorism has been constantly present. It has been used several methods and strategies to address these threats, including a method current in use, the targeting method. The method refers to use few but precise attacks to knock out key functions within these organizations, mostly individuals in the higher command and control structures within these organizations. The effectiveness of the method has been put in question when the majority of the terrorist organizations continue their strife, in some cases even increasing its intensity. The purpose of this study is to investigate which role the higher command plays in these organizations ability to wage war.

Ledning är en av de sex militära grundförmågorna i vår doktrin, ledningens syfte är att inrikta en militär insats mot ett gemensamt militärt mål och att samordna de militära resurser som behövs för att lösa uppgiften. Vår doktrin har till uppgift att förmedla ett gemensamt förhållningssätt för att skapa ett gemensamt språk mellan staber, chefer och underlydande som underlättar ledning. Doktrinen till trots så finns en begreppsförvirring inom ledning där att leda, ledning och ledarskap inte särskiljs den här undersökningen studerar varför det råder en begreppsförvirring inom ledning.Genom en jämförande studie mellan den svenska doktrinen och den brittiska motsvarigheten mäter undersökningen hur väl doktrinerna skildrar ett ledningssystem och förmedlar ett militärt ledarskap i förhållande till de två teorierna; dynamiska OODA-loopen och utvecklande ledarskap.Undersökningens resultat pekar på att den svenska doktrinen beskriver hur funktionen ledning ska genomföras för att befrämja uppdragstaktik. Begreppsförvirringen uppstår eftersom den svenska doktrinen beskriver ett hur men inte ett varför eller ett vad ledning ska göra, vilket ger olika beskrivningar av ledning på olika militära ledningsnivåer.

Introduktion: Patienter som av någon anledning blir inneliggande på sjukhus får oftast problem med sin sömn. Detta kan leda till försämrad hälsa. Syfte: Att beskriva vad som påverkar patientens sömn på sjukhus. Metod: Denna studies datainsamlingsmetod är en litteraturstudie som består av redan befintlig vetenskaplig litteratur. Sökningarna skedde i CINAHL och PubMed och resulterade i 12 artiklar till studiens resultat.

This report consists of a discussion about suitable methods for studying complex sociotechnical systems that are still being developed. There are large economical advantages with studying new systems before they are completely developed since problems can be discovered early and thereby avoided. It is, however, difficult to study developing systems, there are methodological limitations. These limitations are discussed and recommendations for studying non-existing complex sociotechnical systems are presented.The report is based on experiences from a study of the introduction of a shipboard helicopter on the corvettes that the Swedish Armed Forces are developing. A shipboard helicopter implies high requirements on the hosting ship.

Denna uppsats analyserar och prövar den ledningsteori som är framlagd av Martin vanCreveld i boken ?Ledning i krig?. Prövningen tar sin utgångspunkt i Poppers metod omteoriprövning. Syftet med undersökningen är att få en bättre förståelse för hur fyra organisationerskriskommunikation kan se ut med dagens kommunikationsteknologi. Kommunikationsteknologidefineras i undersökningen som sociala medier, mer specifikt Facebook. För att uppnåundersökningens syfte har fyra organisationers Facebook feed under pågående kriser undersöktgenom att analyser hur de väljer att hantera information både från sig själva och från sinaintressenter. De fyra organisationer som har undersökts är Karlstad kommun, Halmstad kommun,SJ AB och Värmlandstrafik. Två frågor har ställts för att uppnå syftet:1.

Idag använder Försvarsmakten högteknologiska ledningssystem för att underlätta ledning på stridsfältet. Några av dessa system är idag utvecklade för internationella insatser mot en lågteknologisk motståndare, men vad skulle hända i en nationell konflikt mot en högteknologisk motståndare? I denna uppsats utvärderas SLB utifrån ett fiktivt framtidsscenario för att komma fram till tekniska eller taktiska anpassningar för att öka den militära nyttan med systemet.Studien bygger på för och nackdelar med SLB utifrån Försvarsmaktens sex grundläggande förmågor som sedan analyseras för att komma fram till anpassningsmöjligheter för SLB. This degree project is an investigation of solar cells and their ability to deliver electric power as well as reducing the need for cooling. The main object of interest is a BASE-X shelter. The shelter is purchased by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, FMV to be used for command and camp in the new force called Nordic Battlegroup, NBG. The demand on the equipment is firstly that it should have a small weight to be easy to transport and handle and secondly to be easy to bring up fast. Therefore the choice of solar cell technology fell on thin film cells.

When searching for better and more practical interfaces between users and their computers, additional or alternative modes of communication between the two parties would be of great use. This thesis handles the possibilities of using eye and head movements as well as voice input as these alternative modes of communication. One part of this project is devoted to find possible interaction techniques when navigating in a computer interface with movements of the eye or the head. The result of this part is four different controls of an interface, adapted to suit this kind of navigation, combined together in a demo application. Another part of the project is devoted to the development of an application, with voice control as primary input method.

Cyberterrorism kan ses som ett relativt nytt, komplicerat och diffust hot som uppenbarat sig till följd av en snabb IT-utveckling. För Försvarsmakten kan detta hot innebära en ny utmaning eftersom doktrinen som skall fungera som vägledning i verksamheten börjar bli inaktuell. De grundläggande förmågorna, som är en viktig del av doktrinen, ses som tankemässiga hjälpmedel för att Försvarsmakten skall kunna analysera, samordna och beskriva verksamheten. Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda hur pass användbara de grundläggande förmågorna är som tankemässiga hjälpmedel när Försvarsmakten ställs mot ett hot som cyberterrorism. Detta görs genom en analys utifrån ett scenario där Försvarsmaktens ledningssystem utsätts för en cyberattack med ett efterföljande resonemang om tillämpningen av förmågorna.
